Dirty, gritty and raw. That’s the look we were going for when we chose this location, and that’s exactly what we got. Sometimes the locations you least expect are going to work, end up being your favourite. I love the look of an old worn down background in pictures. This motel was perfect for the look we were trying to achieve.

Photographer, Paul Venomous, and I pulled up next to this grungy, old, worn down motel. When we told the owner that we were doing a photo shoot here he said, “Really, here?” He showed us his best room, which isn’t saying much, but we picked the dirtiest one. The room was smaller than my bathroom and there was just a hole in the wall for the air conditioner, but it was a perfect set! The “pasta” wall paper and torn flower drapes really added a special touch to the decor. The squeaky screen door, bugs and unusable toilet was a bit of a challenge but thanks to our good friend, Jack Daniels, we got through it!

We started with the door way shots, which are some of my all time favourite. Picture me in my bra, with a bottle of JD in hand, sitting in a doorway of a dingy motel; I swear the motel had never been so busy before in its entire existence! Of course we couldn›t do the shoot without some snacks. We had gummy bears, strawberries and Monster Energy Drinks! Which are the contents of a great day in my opinion.

All hopped up on gummy bears, we then decided to shoot on the bed due to the awesome natural light that was coming through the windows. I was a bit hesitant about getting onto the bed but I am a trooper! We got some gorgeous photos on the bed (minus the TV in the background that was older than the motel.)

At the end of the day we were both very pleased with the results and already getting great feedback on the photos. But I wouldn›t expect anything less from working with Paul. He is an amazing photographer and good friend of mine. We first started working together 2 years ago and I›ve always been very happy with the results.

I had always dreamed of modelling but wasn’t exactly sure on how to get into the industry, until around 4 years ago, when I started worked at a small modelling agency in Oakville. One of the casting directors noticed me for a small job for a bridal website and then I started doing hair shows in Toronto and now here I am today working with Paul and other great photographers and loving every moment of it. I love being in front of the camera, I am also going to school to become a fashion stylist. I love every aspect of the industry and still want to be a part of it if I ever stop modelling.

I have been fortunate enough to work with some great people and meet new friends in my journey as a model and am very excited for the future to see what projects come up next! I am currently working on some big things, so keep your eye out for me to see just what I do next!

J. Staffz

Photography by: PAULVENOMOUS.COM

Born September 24th 1985 as Jabari Stafford Bowry, the name “J. Staffz” comes from two sources. One comes from his first and middle names. Stafford comes from his Uncle Stafford who died in a car accident, whom he never met but uses the name to pay homage. The word “Staff” is also a common term used in musical theory. Its what you use to compose music on.

J. Staffz did not start with any computer software as most “beat makers” would have, for him, it started much earlier. He started taking piano lessons at 7 years old through The Royal Conservatory Of Music for 9 years.

At 10, on a trip to his parents’ home island St. Kitts and Nevis, J. Staffz learned how to play the steel drums and it didn’t stop there. In high school J. Staffz continued his passions for music playing the drums and took professional lessons for that as well.

J Staffz began making his own remixes by rearranging vocals from one song to a beat from another song like a DJ. This all changed when J Staffz bought his first MIDI keyboard. Before he knew it, he was making his own beats.

After barely getting though high school and dropping out of college J Staffz began networking, competing in beat battles and showing his beats to whoever would listen. After gaining local respect and being noticed by many of the local acts J Staffz began to take this a lot more seriously.

It was at this point that J Staffz decided to attend Metalworks Institute for Audio Engineering & Recording. By the end of that year J Staffz had many songs in rotation but had a lack of interest in engineering and stuck to song writing and production.

Since then, J Staffz has worked with over 200 artists including industry megastars such as G-Unit’s Tony Yayo, Wiz Khalifa, 40 Glocc, Yung Berg , Belly, French Montana and many more. J Staffz has also collaborated with platinum selling Grammy award winning Producer Boi 1da on a few occasions.

J Staffz is now signed to SilverBridge Media and has composed theme music for shows on VH1, & HBO and many other networks under the Viacom umbrella and produces and song writes for many artists in his off time. His musical talents paired with a keen knowledge of social networks has made him very well known and is one of the top 100 most popular Canadians on Twitter. He has established himself as one of the most influential music producers online and in the Canadian music industry.

There is just something about her. You can't quite put your finger on it, but you can't take your eyes off of her. She is Marianne Marie D'Vaz. A model and actress from Toronto, Canada, with a sultry yet innocent look. You may recognize her from a sexy little show on Cinemax called Lingerie, where she plays the feisty Tracy in season 2 of the series. We sat down with Marianne and got to know her a little better. Who she is, her work and what motivates her to keep going in the elusive industry that is show business.

Petite and all of five foot four; Marianne has quite the strong presence and a quiet confidence about her. She describes herself as "A really open, free spirit" who enjoys her work as a model and actress because of the hustle required to keep thriving and says she wouldn't flourish at a nine to five job. "Rules and routine bore me. I need a reason to wake up in the morning. I like unpredictability. Acting and modeling give me that. They give me a chance to step away from the norm, and not know when my next job is. Which keeps a fire burning within me. A desire to get out there and truly fight for what I want." Needless to say, the acting and modeling world can be quite cut throat, and Marianne believes that this constant fire inside her is what keeps her eyes on the prize. And what is the prize? "To be honest, I don't care for fame. I mean of course its a great feeling to have people recognize you for work you've done. But ultimately, all I want, is to do what I love, make a comfortable living and wake up every morning knowing I'm doing what I want. Not what society or people tell me I should be doing." Her most recognizable work is as the character Tracy on Lingerie Season 2. "Filming that series was an absoulte dream come true. Everyday on set was just exactly what I want for myself. Working with amazing people and getting to be around all those cameras... It just fuels me. I›m addicted to being in front of the camera. Whether its acting or modeling, theres just this rush that I get from it. Its where I'm supposed to be. The one place I feel like I belong."

A feature in Single Mens Magazine, Urban Male Magazine's Girls Next Door, interview for Playboys safe for work site: The Smoking Jacket, calendars, commercials, indi films, and photoshoots are just a portion of work that this beauty has done. When we asked what the future holds for her, Marianne responds: "I want more. Its never enough. I want to do this till I've got nothing left to give. I'll never stop trying. Not till I'm six feet under. And even then I want my funeral to be filmed!" she jokes.

You can check Marianne Marie D'Vaz out on her website: www.mariannedvaz.com and also follow her on Twitter: @mariannemarieD for her hilarious, honest and sometimes dark perspective on life. “Twitter is a great way for me to keep fans up to date with projects I’m working on, as well as a way for me to express myself and share certain life moments that I feel people can relate to. Also a great way to check out my life through candid pictures.” And hey, who doesn’t enjoy diving into the mind of a beautiful and talented woman?

Treeko Mietto

Treeko Mietto was born is a small town called Lively, Ontario where there wasn’t much to do, luckily Treeko was always creative. Ever since she was a little girl she loved to dress up, make plays, wear makeup, dance to her favorite songs like 100 % pure love by Crystal Waters and Push It by Salt N Peppa. Treeko would watch sitcoms like SNL & Roseanne. She loved to host parties for any occasion but her favorite was Halloween because she can make any costume from scratch, make haunted houses to spook her family and friends.

While growing up Treeko always stuck out like a sore thumb, she was always doing something silly to make people laugh, performing in high school plays and dances; she was voted most outgoing every year. She was most comfortable hanging out with the boys where she felt she could act like herself, playing hacky sack, fishing, cliff jumping. Unlike most girls her age, she never caught up in gossip or drama; Treeko always accepted everybody for who they are and what they want to be in life. Despite her common ground approach she wasn’t always accepted by the other girls from her high school. She was always judged because she would just like to be with the boys doing what she loved, just being herself.

Treeko is a social butterfly that believes you should enjoy life to the fullest while you’re young. “Take chances and act on opportunities, you don’t want to look back and say I wish I would’ve done that” says Treeko when asked about her philosophy on life. Treeko is always so unpredictable, you never know what she is going to do next.

Treeko always liked to be around different groups of people, whether it be running around acting goofy or being part of the acting classes doing skits in front of the school. She always had to be doing something other than hitting the books studying. As a result of her eccentric ways, during her school years she was taunted and teased on a regular basis from other girls.

At 15 she started getting into modelling when she won Miss Photogenic. It was during this time that Treeko realized she loved being in the spot light and decided she wanted to pursue this as a career. With dreams of traveling the world shooting with top photographers or acting in a sitcom like her childhood favorite show Roseanne. Unfortunately high school wasn’t an easy time with the other girls belittling her and tormenting her she had to back away from modelling and left her dream a dream ... and just kept trying to be herself. However, as the years passed by Treeko longed for those childhood dreams of modeling and acting.

Seeking a change of scenery Treeko packed her bags, jumped in a car and drove across Canada to Whistler, British Columbia. Living in Whistler for two and half years was just what she needed. Treeko quickly made friends and was soon that social butterfly that those closest to her knew so well. The close knit environment restored her self-confidence, and sparked her passions and desires once again.

Treeko got news from back home that her Grandfather had fallen seriously ill and she knew in her heart it was time to return home to be by his side. Treeko and her grandparents are exceptionally close; her Grandmother is her best friend and her Family always comes first, she knew in her heart it was time to head back to where she didn’t belong.

Once back at home Treeko vowed nothing or no one would change the person she is now and always wanted to be. More determined than ever now, she began to set the wheels in motion to pursue modeling. Starting with a few local area Sudbury photographers the ground work had been laid for the start of what will hopefully become a very successful modeling and acting career for this northern beauty. Now living in Toronto, Canada Treeko is well on the path to success. Her goal now is to inspire people to be who they want to be in life and to go for your goals and dreams.

Veronika London Exotic & Very Sexy

Mexican born, Canadian raised beauty Veronika London has been creating quite a stir with her provocative television appearances and photography features leading to Maxim Magazine calling her the “Megan Fox of Hollywood North.” With a starring role in the film Searching For Angels, London is now earning respect as a serious actress drawing comparisons to Angelina Jolie in Gia. In the film, London plays a heroin-addicted prostitute who is discovered beaten in the street with no memory of her past. Refusing to trade on her looks, London fearlessly sheds the trappings that made her a Canadian sex symbol, and creates a riveting portrait of a young woman at serious risk. The result is a is a performance that is spellbinding in its power and truth.

As a method trained actress, having studied at Pro-Actors lab in Toronto, London likes to put herself into real life situations even while playing a cracked out prostitute. “We were in Toronto on Church street and in between takes of shooting the scenes I decided to step out of the set,” reflects London. “I was literally approached by three cars, one was a truckers, another a business man and the third a family man with a child in the back seat. At the time it was -35 weather, I was starving, very cold and having caffeine withdraws. At that moment - I realized I went into survival mode- If I had nothing left I would get in the car. I understood that when one is so lost and immersed in darkness- a scenario that could end bad seems like a good idea.”

Always living on the edge, London began her acting career in 2009 with risqué appearances on BO’s Lingerie and Showtime’s Body Language. In that same year, she shot seven music videos - all of which featured her in lead roles, ranging in different musical genres, worked as the co- host for Toro- TV’s “Damage Control” series, and launched a film career with Spanish speaking roles in Meet My Water Buffalo and in the dark comedy The Elusive Man.

In 2010, she focused on more unconventional feature film roles as a means of challenging herself with character driven roles. She found herself connecting better with the “conflicted rawness” of some of the characters she portrayed, such as the assassin in Mvnera, a killer bartender in Three Shades of Black and a pregnant nun in the horror slasher Black Eve.

With nine tattoos (most interesting one on upper left shoulder blade in binary code that says desire), martial arts training and her exotic looks, London is quickly becoming the go to actress for edgy, dark, bizarre and early Jolie-esque roles. Most recently she starred in two of Belly’s music videos which are also very dark, “Purple Drugs” and REM’s remix- “Losing my Religion.”

Melissa NIGHT The Girl Next Door

Lets take a few minutes out of a Paul Venomous shoot and get to know Melissa Night.

Melissa hasn’t had the easiest life, in fact, she has seen her fair share of trials, tribulations and straight up hard times. She has struggled through a lot of her life and to some extent still struggles, but don’t we all?

Melissa comes from a mixed heritage including Maltese, First Nations and French; her story like most has two sides. On the one side you have a very compassionate, caring, down to earth all around sweet girl that adores animals, nature and beauty and loves to help others. The flip side to that coin is the edgy, goth styled tomboy. Melissa spent the majority of her younger years being the tomboy, hanging out with the guys playing sports, riding her bike, wearing baggy jeans and t-shirts fascinated by sports cars. If it was pink, frilly or had flowers on it, you wouldn’t catch Melissa anywhere near it. Going through school while everyone else was choosing instruments like flute or clarinet Melissa sought out lessons to learn how to play the drums! “I’m obsessed with horror movies, Halloween and Vampires. I also collect creepy looking things like skulls and zombie baby dolls.”

Melissa has a younger sister and brother, they all have different fathers, and they were all put into foster care at very young ages because there mother wasn’t able to take care of them. Melissa’s mother suffered from an out of control drug and alcohol addiction. Melissa and her siblings moved from foster home to foster home as young children and eventually were separated. Melissa ended up living with her father who managed to obtain custody of her. They had very little money and lived in a tiny one bedroom apartment; Melissa slept in the bedroom on a mattress while her father claimed the couch. Melissa’s father struggled to provide for her while he tried to cope with failing health and unstable work. The kids at school made fun of her due to her social economic situation, and treated her, like an outsider. Walking home from school as a young child Melissa would make sure no one was following her so that they could not see where she lived. As time went on their struggle only grew until eventually her father couldn’t afford to buy her bus tickets to get to one of her schools anymore.

Melissa grew up with dreams and aspirations for herself, wanting a better life; she had a desire to become a model, a photographer, an artist she wanted to do so many things with her life. She would look at the models on the covers of the magazines and dream that that one day would be here and that all the kids who were treating her bad now would become envious of what she had achieved in life. Melissa knew that this was something she could strive for and achieve.

At a young age she would start working two jobs, mostly factory and labor type jobs which seemed to fit with the tomboy persona she had going on. She would come home from work, scratched, bruised and covered in dirt just to prove that she could do anything that any boy could, including lifting heavy boxes. Melissa was getting noticed, she was told on more than one occasion that she was a better worker then most of the guys she worked with and even told she used a nail gun like a pro! Melissa was working on assembly lines, driving fork lifts, building crates, if it was hard work, she lined up for the chance to do it.

That was the beginning, Melissa was making her own money, she even saved up and bought a car; but she soon remembered those dreams of becoming a model and knew it was time to make some changes. She quit the factory job, took a bartending course, and started to work as a bartender saving up money whenever she could to get her modeling portfolio started. Melissa began to embrace her feminine side (though she still keeps that tomboy and edgy side to her that peeks through when she does photo shoots) as she started working with photographers building a professional glamour and swimwear portfolio.

With a fairly successful start to her modeling portfolio and her career underway, Melissa is now taking time to start practicing and learning some photography skills behind the camera and working on her art. Melissa has also been toying with the idea of writing a book about her life, and is in the beginning stages of that project.

“I am not afraid of being myself and who I am, I’m confident in myself and could care less what other people think. I just keep working hard to achieve my goals and dreams” Melissa told Paul Venomous during her interview. “Even though you may have had a really hard start at life and not equally the same as most people may have, that doesn’t mean that you cannot have the life that you want for yourself.” Melissa continues “You can be happy in life, the trick is not to give up just because you may have been dealt a shit hand in life. You can achieve anything you want if you work towards it … remember; you’re the only one stopping yourself from achieving your goals”.

Shyla Suomi

Beautiful women have always inspired me! To me, watching a woman take herself even slightly out of her comfort zone and achieve her dreams and goals Ö is astonishing. I'm a risk taker, and always waiting to see what will come next. Growing up in the northern part of Canada I am a northern girl through and through, my heart lies in the country. It gives me a calm nature and allows me to be stress free. I focus daily on learning new skills for modeling and to hone my craft as painter does on his canvas.

From a young age I have always had an interest in modeling. I wanted to be like the women gracing the covers of Maxim Magazine. Being a small town girl living in Sudbury, Canada, I would have never guessed my dreams and aspirations could ever become a reality; after all my hobbies consist of riding horses, snowboarding and fishing. However, what I have always wanted more than anything was to chase those dreams, and I am.

Taking part in a local bikini contest in Sudbury, a man by the name of Gord Scoular took interest in my look and set me up with a Toronto photographer by the name of Glen Grainger. He produced some images of me, and I was more than pleased with the outcome. I now had a couple pictures to start myself a portfolio. I was later discovered by some of the greatest photographers in Toronto such as Paul Venomous and Steve Locke.

Itís always a pleasure meeting the leaders of the industry that help me develop my skills furthur and reach new heights on what I have always seen myself doing. Modeling feels like a second nature to me. It never feels like work, but more of an honourable task. And you know what they say Ö ìYouíll never work a day in your life if you love your job!

I would love to travel the world shooting with amazing and unforgettable photographers that carry with them their unique visions. I want to stand out and be different. I want to inspire just as I have been inspired.

In the last few weeks I have started working very closely with Paul Venomous on some big projects, the first of which was a video interview with hip-hop super producer Jstaffz. It was my first time interviewing someone and we had a blast, I felt it flowed very well and was more like a couple friends sitting down to chat. The full interview will be coming out shortly but you can check out a short blooper reel from the interview on YouTube by searching my name or going to Paul Venomousí channel.

The future has a lot in store for me and I am just getting started, you will be seeing a lot more of me in the coming months and years, so make sure you stay tuned.

N54: When did you start modeling? Two years ago.

N54: What was it that got you into modeling? A friend of mine asked to use me in his port for a sweater collection. After that one shoot, I was asked by other photographers to shoot, I was in the right places at the right time, got published within the first three months and the rest is history. :)

N54: Do you remember the first photographer you ever shot with? Yes. My good friend Bob House.

N54: What was that like? So much fun :) He had a great studio, with tons of clothes to dress up in. Tutus, scarves, umbrellas.. the list goes on. He is super easy to work with and will make you laugh when he shows you the simple poses himself.

N54: Have you ever shot with him/her again? Yes, I have shot with Bob more than once. Each time, he helped me improve.

N54: What was it like shooting with Paul Venomous? I always have a blast shooting with Paul. We mesh well :)

N54: During your shoot with Paul Venomous, he shot video with you, was that different then a regular shoot? It was different, yes as I have only ever done the videography once before, it is a little nerve racking for me for some reason, I’m not as comfortable with it but again, a blast because the blooper reel would make anyone pee a little in their panties.

N54: During a shoot, what is running through your head? tra la lala la la la la la la la tro lo lolo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo. Most of my sexy faces I do while thinking of food.

N54: What does it feel like seeing yourself in a magazine? It doesn’t change after the first few times. I don’t think I’d ever get used to it. I feel as though until I see the magazine, it’s not accurate information. lol

N54: Have you done any strange or weird photo shoots? Are there any you want to do? I cant say that I have. Each one of my music videos though I have been covered in paint in some way. They’re portraying me covered in blood. I seem to attract the weirdness. lol

N54: Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to share? I always have something going on, although I share once it is complete unless it needs some major pre promotion.

N54: Who are your role models, and why? I used to have a few. They didn’t pan out. Apparently cat-woman is a fictitious murderer and Thelma was only motivational with Louise, who I hate. So N/A to this section.

N54: Where can we find you when you are not in front of the lens? Depending on the weather. I rollerblade more than I walk when it is nice out, I never stay inside when its raining and when theres a huge party somewhere you can be sure I am on the roof, doing something else. lol

N54: What’s your favorite song right now? Somebody that I used to know-Gotye cover by Walk off the Earth. Not by Gotye. And every day is Perfect Day by Jim Jones

N54: What is your favorite type of food? Sandwiches. Hands down only thing that never fails to satisfy. :)

N54: What is your biggest fear? Not accomplishing what I know I have the potential to do. Sharks are kinda scary too. I don’t think Id like to die by shark.

N54: What is your idea of perfect happiness? oh hmmm.. Perfect happiness...when what you want amounts to much less than what you have, when you see the world as it would be behind a pair of rose colored glasses. When you understand the world enough to forgive, let go, breath and smile... My perfect happiness is being one with the world through exploration. I want to see it, feel it, live it, love it.

N54: What three things would you take with you to a deserted island? One thing? Dora. That bitch has EVERYTHING in her back pack. :)

N54: Do you have any motto’s or sayings? If so what is it? Love you to life. Meow.

N54: Three Words... Describe yourself? Magic, Ninja, Plant. :)

N54: What is your best physical feature? I have really nice calves.

N54: Do you approach men that you like or do you let them come to you? I approach them. And then I let them come to me :)

N54: What’s the perfect first date? One where afterwards you can’t wait to see that person again.
